"My only regret in life is that I am not someone else." - Woody Allen
Portraits, Nature, Life....
I am an artist who currently resides in Sunnyvale, California, and am a member of the Sunnyvale Art Club. My current work features Oil Paintings of orangutans, animals and portraits of musicians. My goal is to create colorful and vibrant pieces, which express gestures, emotions and nature.
My work has been on display at several venues in San Francisco, Sonoma and the Bay Area.
My work on Orangutans was initially inspired while watching a documentary of KoKo the gorilla. The expressions, behaviors and characteristics of apes are both insightful and entertaining to watch. As I found more footage and pictures of apes, I decided to make them the subject of a series of paintings. In each portrait I try to capture a specific emotion, which becomes the title of the piece.
The music and lives of Blues musicians, have recently been an inspiration for a new series of paintings. This has included paintings of local musicians and Folk artists. In each painting I have aimed to capture a mood that reflects the musician. In all my paintings, I work to convey a strong sense of spirit through the characters and emotions I choose to portray.
